The Official Web Site of James R. Cummins III

Who Am I?

That question falls into the "really big questions" category and requires a bit more self-enlightenment than I may have achieved.

But I'm pretty clear on who I'm not. Here's a short list of people you might find when you Google "Jim Cummins" that are definitely not me:

The University of Toronto professor

The retired professional hockey player

The deceased, former NBC television reporter

The PGA Manager, Business Development/Tournament Director in Kansas

The last surviving member of The James Gang
This site's not dead...It's just mostly dead

It's not unheard of. Surely you remember how Miracle Max described Westley's condition to Inigo Montoya:

"Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do."

"What's that?"

"Go through his clothes and look for loose change."

If you are here for the (We)bLog, please use the navigation widget to the right. You will need to register first and a Login box will magically appear if you try to access the (We)bLog before you login. The Comment form is now working correctly for registered users. If I start getting spam-bot activity I may need to tweak my security roles a bit but that should not be noticeable to real, live human beings who know me.

You can customize the appearance of the site a bit; font size and face and color theme. Use the "Change site appearance" option to the right. I'm personally using Forest, Medium, Palatino.

Otherwise, there is not much here after 2003 when I largely stopped doing any work on this site, although I did continue work on other sites. I might do some more fiddling about on it. Then again, I might not.

Just a note on my web site issues. Gearhost is working on a solution to prevent the errors on my site. For now I have to keep restarting the server's global application pool. Then it will work for awhile (until it doesn't) and I have to do it again.

As of Thursday, July 25th, the site has been considerably more stable but not 100%, please let me know if you try to access it and get PHP errors.
